Vai Symbol Doong

Vai Symbol Doong at U+A61B is a Vai-script punctuation or symbolic sign used with Vai writing rather than an alphabetic syllable. It belongs to the Vai block, which encodes the syllabary and associated marks used for the Vai language of Liberia and Sierra Leone. In real text, this character is mainly relevant to Vai-language materials that preserve traditional manuscript or print conventions. It may appear in editions of Vai documents, literacy resources, linguistic examples, and archival transcriptions where the non-syllabic signs of the script are recorded alongside ordinary Vai syllable characters. Its use is specialized: most everyday digital Vai text relies on the syllabary letters and common punctuation, while signs such as ꘛ are more often encountered by researchers, font developers, keyboard designers, and people digitizing historical Vai sources. Because it is not a Latin letter or a generic ornament, it should be searched and handled as a Vai-specific symbol with its own identity.
